Foreign Ministers discuss in Madrid on peace troops in Ukraine and European defense cooperation.

The head of the European Union’s diplomacy Kaja Kallas on Monday again called on Russia to show good will and agree on a ceasefire in Ukraine. TASR refers to Reuters Report.

“The return of Ukrainian children who were deported to Russia or the release of prisoners of war,” Kallas said examples of goodwill that Russia could do.

Calls for conflict resolution

In a speech before the meeting of the European Foreign Ministers in Madrid, which is being discussed on the war in Ukraine, the United States called on to develop greater pressure on the Kremlin to end more than three years of war.

Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Jean-Naël Barrot, in the meantime, noted that Russia owes the United States a clear answer to the question of whether he wanted to go a peaceful way.

According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump is increasingly frustrated due to a lack of shift in an effort to mediate a peace agreement. Both Kiev and Moscow have in principle showing my consent to the addictive in the Black Sea and stopping attacks on the enemy’s energy infrastructure, but the implementation of these ceasefires is unclear, and both sides are accused of trying to thwart them.

France and Britain are also working and discussing the deployment of peaceful units in Ukraine. Polish boss of diplomacy Radoslaw Sikorski said in this context that he was in the Ukrainian government to decide when and whether it will allow foreign troops to enter its territory. “Russia poses a threat to Europe, so the response should also be European,” he said.

Foreign Ministers French, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom met in Madrid to discuss European defense cooperation and future plans to maintain peace in Ukraine. Kallasová and European Commissioner Andrius Kubilius also attended the meeting. It is a “Weimar+” group, which extends the original informal grouping of Poland, Germany and France under the name Weimar Triangle.
