Football is a passion of all Brazilians and in Acre could not be different. However, not everything is joy, as in the national scene, women’s football in Acre is devalued, where only two women are as techniques in the Acreano Championship. Neila Rosas and Celiane Fernandes are the queens of the Acre Campos, the two built solid careers in Acre Women’s football.

Neila Rosas has been in football for 30 years, won eight state championships and a three -time championship and tetra championship. In 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Despite having already played the Brazilian Championship five times, Neila was never champion.
However, Neila talks about the difficulties of working with the sport in Acre and especially with women’s football.
“Difficulty are greater than men’s football, whether or not there is a little prejudice even, but the biggest difficulty is mainly financial support, some girls need to work, because there is no salary yet in football here in Acre,” said the coach.
The coach speaks how football brings joy, and if it wasn’t for the love for the sport she would have stopped.
“Football is a business that brings joy, but at the same time sadness, I’ve tried several times to give up more the love I have for the sport makes me rethink in this withdrawal,” said Neila.
The teacher says she has thought several times about retirement, but the heart speaks louder and does not abandon the sport.
“For me I had stopped since last year, but I was called by Galvez and we were champions, and this year I said that it would be just twisted, just training the female OAB team, but there is no way, some people call me to help the training of their teams and it is difficult not to accept,” said the coach.
Celiane has been in football for 14 years, between athlete, board, wardrobe and other functions, but the position of coach she has been holding for 6 years. She boasts several titles in futsal, such as Rio Branco City Cup, Acrean Futsal Championship. In field football she has great tickets, was vice champion with Galvez in 2022, and champion of the U-20 in 2019.
The coach, who is running the real society team, says that the biggest problem of women’s football is prejudice and lack of support.
“Prejudice and the lack of support from public authorities are the biggest obstacles. We need to take it out of the pocket to pay athletes, registration of arbitration and others,” said the coach.
Celiane says that the public often makes jokes because she is women’s soccer and end up snubbing the level of athletes.
“People think we are not capable, female team plays nothing, makes jokes know, let’s watch this naked here, I’ve heard that a lot,” said Celiane.
In 2025, according to the Acre Football Federation calendar (FFAC), the Acre Women’s Championship takes place from October 1st to November 30th.
