Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark that, like the United States, is part of NATO
Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said on Sunday that the United States will not take control of the island territory a day after the US president quotes until the possibility of using military force to take the island.
“President Trump says the United States will be with Greenland. Let me be clear: the United States will not be Greenland. We don’t belong to anyone else. We decided our own future,” Nielsen said in a Facebook post.
Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark that, like the United States, is part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). According to Trump, the annexation of the territory would be a matter of national security for Americans.
