Three men, 28, 36 and 43, were arrested in the act after an attempted theft to a bank branch in the center of São Sebastião, a city located on the north coast of São Paulo. The arrest took place on Sunday (30), a few hours after the criminals tried to rob an ATM.
According to the occurrence record, the trio would have become security cameras, and turn off the sensors of the site not to be identified.
So far, the architect planned plan, but when trying to connect a device to the ATM to withdraw the money, the criminals failed. After the frustrated attempt, the men fled.
However, the Civil Police received a sign of the agency’s alarm and the teams discovered the license plate of the vehicle used in the escape. With the help of the Paulista Wall system, installed in cameras of the municipality, the agents located the trio, which moved to Caraguatatuba, another city of the coast of São Paulo.
By the time they were found, the criminals tried to escape the approach and abandoned the vehicle, but were still arrested.
The trio is suspected of robbing ATMs in other regions of São Paulo. Police are investigating whether they are responsible for an attempted theft to an ATM in Franca, in the interior of São Paulo, two days earlier.
In addition to the materials used to commit the crimes, the teams also seized bags, cell phones, clothes and shoes in the car.
The trio was sent to the 1st Police District of São Sebastião. At the scene, the men were arrested and available to the courts. The case was registered as ATM theft and criminal association.
