The former president reported, on Monday (31), a “persecution” against the leader of the French right, after the court of his country declared her ineligible for five years for embezzlement of public funds. “I hope and hope Mrs. Le Pen wins this persecution and can compete in the next 2027 presidential elections,” Bolsonaro wrote in the X. “Long live freedom! Long live! Long live Brazil!” He added. Bolsonaro stated that “the left in France, as in Brazil, opts for the path of lawfare, of judicial activism, to seek unplay elections.”

In addition, he became a defendant after the First Class of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) accepted the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) against him for an alleged coup attempt in 2022. According to PGR’s complaint, Bolsonaro tried to prevent his successor in the presidency, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The former president says he is innocent and victim of a “persecution.”
