The zoo in Bratislava is also prepared for the possibility of complete quarantine for measures. This is stated by the director of the ZOO Matej Dobšovič on the social network. “We are preparing for all the possibilities. Also, we stay in the zoo with animals in total quarantine,” Dobšovič wrote in the video.
The ZOO chief reported last week that all measures to prevent infection are in force in the zoo and are strictly observed. He noted that in some cases significantly more than during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Monthly outages on sales estimates the zoo at 250,000 to 350 000 eurosin the event that the zoo was closed for four months, the outages could reach a million euros. The Bratislava Zoo will, together with other zoo in Slovakia, will try to gain compensation from the state.
The Bratislava Zoo is closed from 21 March. Originally she was scheduled to open the 65th season for 22 March. In this context, she stated that after the September flood there is another huge challenge, a dangerous infection that threatens many rare species, such as antelopes, giraffes, bison, deer, wild boar, daniele, goats, sheep or mouflons. “We can lose all of them if the infection expanded for the gates of our zoo,” the city organization pointed out.
