“Political ruling,” the French court’s verdict described the far -right leader who judged her, imposing her, among other things, the penalty of deprivation of his right to be elected for five years.
In her first interview with TF1 a few hours after the decision, Marin Lepen noted that she was deliberately designed to prevent her from claiming the presidency in 2027.
She spoke of a “black day for democracy”, noting that polls say that it is currently the dominant in the upcoming presidential race.
“It’s not just me being excluded from the presidency,” he adds. “They are millions of French citizens whose vote has just been removed.”
Marin Lepen said she would appeal as soon as possible as she said “we are all innocent” (23 defendants, including former MEPs and now).
Asked why he left the court before he even heard the judge speak the ruling, he said: “I didn’t need to hear more”, since “I understood what was going on.”
Lepen was also asked about the perspective of Jordan Bardela, the 29 -year -old who will be a candidate in her place if the court sentence is not falling.
“Bardela is a great advantage for the party,” he said, but added that “I will not go out so easily out of the race.” “There are millions of French who believe in me. I’ve been fighting for them for 30 years, “he said.
However, the far -right leader said he did not intend to request a “presidential grace” from Emmanuel Macron. “I believe in the ability of an appeal to analyze this case with neutrality and to ensure that we have not committed embezzlement for the same benefit,” he said.
