At least three dead in an Israeli bombing against southern Beirut
At least three people have died and another seven have been injured in the early hours of this Tuesday in an Israeli air attack against the South Beirut suburbs, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, endangering the fragile high -fire agreement reached four months ago between Israel and the Chií Hezbollah militia.
The Israeli army has said in a statement that the attacks were directed against a Hezbollah militant “who had recently directed Hamas operations and helped them.” This Tuesday’s attack occurs after, the Shiite suburbs to the south of Beirut considered Hezbollah for the first time in four months high the fire.
Hezbollah has not yet made comments on the attack, nor has it provided details about the identity of the objective. The Lebanese president, Joseph Aoun, has condemned Israeli’s last bombing and has affirmed that Israel’s growing “aggression” demands that his country mobilize international allies to support their sovereignty.
The attack, according to the Reuters agency, has caused damage to the three upper floors of a building in the suburbs of southern Beirut, while the crystals of the lower floors have remained intact, indicating that it was a selective attack. The bombardment has not been preceded by evacuation orders in the area. (Reuters)
