Two advisors from Netanyahu for delivering to Israeli media favorable information to Qatar

The Israeli police reported Monday that two prime minister advisors have been arrested for allegedly delivering favorable information to Various Media in Israel in the framework of a framework known as scandal.

Thus, Yonatan Urich and Eli Feldstein, who was also a Netanyahu spokesman and is also accused of allegedly filtering classified information about negotiations to release those kidnapped by the Islamic Resistance Movement () in the attacks of October 7, 2023.

For its part, the country’s attorney general, Gali Baharav-Miara, to which the government itself seeks to dismiss, has asked the Israeli police to call Netanyahu in the framework of investigations, according to information from the Channel 12 television channel 12.

However, he clarified that the president’s testimony would appear as that of someone who “was aware of the matter” and not as a direct suspect of the alleged crime committed. This decision would be made afterwards, as these statements point out.

Feldstein, who has been under house arrest since December 2024, was charged together with the Ari Rosenfeld army reservist, who has also been accused of “transferring classified information” obtained when he worked for Israeli military intelligence.

Both have been accused of filtering these information to influence public opinion in relation to the negotiation process to achieve the release of hostages, some actions with which they sought to favor the interests of the Israeli prime minister.

In this new case, the security forces have explained that Urich and Feldstein have been arrested for having worked for a Qatari company that sought to place “favorable” news to Doha in the Israeli press, according to information from the newspaper .

The investigation is carried out by Unit 433 of the Police and the Shin Bet, the Israeli internal intelligence agency. These inquiries suggest that Feldstein himself was working for that company when he was spokesman for the Prime Minister’s office.

“Haras”

Netanyahu himself has published a video after declaring before the police in this case and has criticized the “political” character of the process. In particular, he has condemned the arrest of his two advisors, “retained as hostages.”

The Israeli president stressed that when the police invited him to testify, he immediately made a hole in his agenda. “The police told me that I needed four hours, but they have finished the questions in an hour,” he explained.

In the meeting he has asked the agents to present evidence. “I told them, ‘Show me something’ and they had nothing,” he argued. “I understand that this is a political investigation, but I did not know how much. They retain Urich and Feldstein as hostages,” he added. “It is a political witch hunt that seeks to frustrate the dismissal of the director of Shin Bet and overthrow a right -wing prime minister,” he said.

The opposition has criticized in particular that Netanyahu has compared its advisors with “hostages” at a time when Palestinian militias retain almost 60 Israeli kidnapped in the Gaza Strip.

“While you take your time with interrogations, 59 hostages count every second,” said the leader of the National Unit, Benny Gantz party, in his account on social network X.

“Our hostages, kidnapped before their eyes, are the ones that languish with the enemy in tunnels for 542 days; not those who collaborated with Qatar during the war and have been detained for a day to be interrogated,” he added.
