Brazil chose the executive Dan ioschpe to be the “climate Champion” of this year’s global climate dome, which will be held in Belém in November, they told the Reuters This Wednesday (2) two sources with knowledge of the decision.
The role of “Climate Champion” is to work on behalf of the president of the UN conference, which this year is the diplomat, to encourage and negotiate voluntary efforts from the business community and others to contain global warming. In other years, activists, officials of governments and members of the development financing community were chosen as “Climate Champions.”
IOSCHPE has already led B20, a global business forum that promotes dialogue between corporate and government leaders in the G20 during the Brazilian presidency of the bloc last year.

He currently chairs the Ioschpe-Maxion () Board of Directors, a manufacturer of automotive components based in São Paulo, and is in the board of large Brazilian companies, such as Embraer ().
IOSCHPE’s name should be formally announced in the coming days. Neither the Brazilian government nor ioschpe commented on the appointment when contacted by the Reuters.
