Reserve colonel Rubens Pierrotti Jr. was indicted by the Army in a Military Police Inquiry (IPM) after giving interviews in which he criticizes the corporation.
In subpoena sent to Pierrotti to give testimony on Wednesday (2), the army says that the inquiry was established to “determine, verify and confirm the truth, authenticity and integrity” of his statements in the YouTube channel Tramonta News (conducted by journalist Carlos Tramontina) and Radio 98.7 FM (Pop Rio).
Pierrotti went to the programs to talk about the book “Diaries of the Barrace: Dossier Smart: the story the army wants to scratch”, the corporation and several of its officers-specially, former vice president and today senator (Republicans-RS)-for the purchase of millionaire equipment.
In the publication, the colonel, through the Battaglia alter ego, writes that the army was “lenient with unlawfulness” and “rewarded evildoers.” It also criticizes habits that would be rooted in the olive green force. It cites the use without funds criteria, the confusion between public and private (use of the structure or subordinates in personal activities) and the case of an undercover officer who was working “disguised as a server” in a Federal Court with a judge in defense of causes of interest to the army in that court.
Since launched the book last year, the colonel has given interviews in which he reaffirms and amplifies complaints and criticism published there.
Noteramonta News, Pierrotti said the army promotes ideological indoctrination and brainwashing in military schools and criticized the benefits of military welfare (of which he himself, as a reservist, enjoy), citing the system of R $ 50 billion in proportionally.
“Military Social Security is such a thing … a mouth that I will tell you. Very good, because you contribute to various phases of life, proportionally to your salary. (…) Captain will discount proportionally to [soldo de] Captain, Major (…). Only when you retire, you retire full. It is obvious that the minimum that should be made is an average of contributions to the military to receive, but integrality is absurd. Integrality causes this deficit of $ 50 billion. “
The colonel also criticized the “support” given by the army to the scammer camps in front of the barracks and cited evidence that ammunition of the corporation were used in the attacks of January 8, 2023. “They found ballerina grenades, which neither the Congress police nor the STF police and the PM of Brasilia have (…), which are used by special forces forces. [do Exército].”
At Radio 98.7 FM (Pop Rio) he attributed the attacks on January 8 to the right -wing indoctrination in military schools, criticized the military denounced by the coup plot (“always very consistent with what they preach, made the plane of the auditable coup, impressing in the Planalto Palace”) and said that the amnesty law (evoked by the military to justify the non -punishment for non -punishment dictatorship crimes) was a mistake.
Sought, the Army did not respond to Pierrotti’s statements motivated the IPM, stating, in a statement, that the purpose of the inquiry is “to find out if there was a military crime practice by the colonel (…) in interviews granted to communication vehicles, with no cause and effect relationship with the book published by the military.”
In the subpoena sent to Pierrotti, the Army informs that “non -compliance with this notification may configure the crime of disobedience to the legal order of military authority” and “entail other appropriate legal measures that enable such testimony”.
In his defense play, Pierrotti recalls that for interrogations, requests access to the case, the postponement of the statement and that he is clarified by which crimes is investigated and why he was indicted. It also asks that the IPM in charge of the IPM is considered suspicious and removed from the case, having had, in the past, a denied transfer request, in an opinion signed by Pierrotti.
Pierrotti told the report that he received from military sources the information that General Carlos Duarte Pontual de Lemos, commander of the 1st Military Region and responsible for the establishment of the IPM, would have submitted a proposal to the Army General Department (DGP) to open a justification council to judge him. It is a military court that could expel him from the corporation.
The army said that “so far, no proposal has been presented for the opening of a justification board in relation to Colonel Pierrotti.”
The indicted officer recalled that one allows “the inactive military, regardless of the provisions contained in the disciplinary regulations of the, freely opine on political matter, and express ideological, philosophical thinking and concept to the matter pertinent to the public interest.”
Pierrotti’s case holds similarities to that of the reserve colonel Marcelo Pimentel, who in 2018 (“bad example” of military) and since then was, in the media and on social networks, the politicization of the Armed Forces, having been the target of followed Army disciplinary processes by the opinions issued.
