Do the casualties and parental licenses impact holidays or holiday and Christmas subsidies? We explain

The IRS delivery campaign has already started and, with it, also new rules come. For many taxpayers, the process goes unnoticed until the moment of simulation or refund, but this year there are relevant changes – and one can make a difference in the speed with which money goes into the account.

According to an official source of the Ministry of Finance, in statements, there were three most prominent changes introduced this year in the IRS campaign, along with a specific warning for the correct IBAN identification, fundamental to accelerate the refunding process.

The three changes in the IRS to take into account this year

Among the main changes, the government highlights:

-Deduction to the collection of charges with compensation for domestic work: This expense will directly integrate the tax calculation, provided it is duly registered.

-Buriousness to declare assets located in jurisdictions with a more favorable tax regime: A measure that aims to reinforce control over heritage abroad, especially in tax havens.

-Duplication of the percentage of the IRS consignment: The rate went from 0.5% to 1%allowing taxpayers to allocate a larger portion of the tax due to eligible institutions at no additional cost.

In addition, the ministry recalls another amendment of practical impact: the elimination of the obligation to declare exempt income from which the Tax Authority (AT) already has information.

This measure aims to reduce errors and fines by involuntary omissions.

IBAN may be the detail that accelerates (or delays) the reimbursement

Although automatic IRS statements (applicable to most taxpayers with dependent work income and pensions) have registered an average reimbursement period of less than 13 days, the effective value may vary – and depends, among other factors, the correction of the IBAN associated with the declaration.

“Taxpayers must ensure that the Bank Identification Code (IBAN) is correctly identified, as this allows greater speed in processing reimbursements,” said the Ministry of Finance, adding that this is one of the most frequent errors.

Avoid the last days can make a difference

The same government source also stresses that “the high number of statements presented in the last days of the deadline may lead to system constraints and lead to an increase in average time to treat statements.”

Therefore, it is advisable that delivery be done in advance.

The IRS delivery campaign runs between April 1 and June 30 and covers income obtained in 2023.

The submission of the declaration is mandatory even in cases where there is no tax payable or receiving, unless the taxpayer is covered by the validated automatic IRS.
