Sheinbaum asks Trump’s announcement to take action: “It’s not a matter of you put me rates and I put them on you”
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has reported that it will be tomorrow, after knowing the tariffs imposed by the administration of Donald Trump, when she announces what measures her government will take in response. “We are not going to advance anything,” he said, “tomorrow we are going to announce. But it is a comprehensive program that we are going to announce, it is not a matter of you put me rates, I put you rates. Our interest is the strengthening of the Mexican economy, among others, of the automotive industry.”
Sheinbaum has been characterized by a cold -headed policy before Trump’s bands. At the beginning of March, the Mexican president won a one -month truce to the imposition of these taxes after a call with the Republican. Trump has already said that the pause was a sample of “respect for President Sheinbaum.”
An hour before what Trump has called Liberation Day, the president remains with the same calm. “The US economy is still the most important on the planet and when it decides to change commercial policy, as it has done now, it has its impacts worldwide. The question is how strong your economy is to be able to address those impacts,” said Sheinbaum, who says that Mexico receives measures with “historical” employment and collection.
