The first ’boutique’ luxury hotel of Faro will open until 2027, built in a 16th century building in the historic center of the capital Algarve, the project promoters told Lusa.
The new 29 -bedroom five -star unit is directed at a luxury segment and will have an interior garden, a terrace pool, a gym, a multi -reunion room and also a restaurant and bar, explained Tatiana Vieira, project manager.
“If all goes as planned, we hope to open in late 2026, early 2027,” he said, in advance that they also plan to welcome the Ashana Small Events, such as artistic exhibitions, live music and other cultural initiatives.
The hotel, described by prosecutors as an “Urban Oasis”, is the first to be conceived and built from the root in Portugal by Terra International, a family company in the construction sector, present in the Algarve 10 years ago, with hotels in Austria, Bulgaria and the United States.
Tatiana Vieira considers that Faro has “a lot of potential” and a wide “variety of things to offer”, but has been in the “background” in terms of demand, although in recent years there is an increase in tourists in the city.
“The main reason for tourists come to Faro is the story and, therefore, making a conventional hotel would not have so much meaning. What is fashionable now is the Scandinavian style, minimalist. But that’s not what we want. We want to embrace the history of the city,” he added.
In this sense, the new hotel, the second of five stars to be born in the city, celebrates the city’s heritage, recovering some of the Moorish architecture and combining it with the Portuguese modern architecture, said the architect responsible for the project, Nelson Gaitinha.
“We did not want it to be a project for mass tourism, but something more characterized than the standards established by the great chains. We wanted to do something different from the” standard “model, because tourism became very oriented to brands and standardized,” he said.
But the difference is not just about the structural level, with this new unit, the group aims to create a “different and creative” offer, which includes a more personalized customer service, a kind of butler that supports it during the stay.
“This difference is not just to do with the structure, but also with the service we are going to provide. We want to get away from the traditional concept of receptionist, table employee or bartender and have a service where the guest is received by someone who accompanies him throughout the stay,” he explained.
In June 2021 opened the first five -star hotel in the capital Algarve, with a total of 103 rooms, two restaurants, bars, ‘spa’, an inner pool and one outside, the latter installed on the building’s coverage overlooking Ria Formosa.
Implemented in an area with 2,500 square meters in the city center, 3HB Faro resulted from the recovery of two buildings, one of which centenary, in an investment by the 3HB Hotel hotel group.
