The main objective of the campaign is to prevent disasters and preserve lives, ensuring that the population is informed and safe. The extension of the campaign was decided after reports of heavy rainfall in cities of ABC Paulista, such as Mauá, where the volume of rain reached 137 mm, which is equivalent to 18 days of precipitation in March.

In Santo André, the situation was also critical, with 63 flooding points and several occurrences served by the firefighters. To mitigate these risks, the Civil Defense will continue to issue alerts via cellular, guiding people to avoid unnecessary displacements and remain in safe places. In addition to the rain campaign, the São Paulo Civil Defense is launching a fire prevention initiative, with a programmed simulation to occur in Franco da Rocha. Adverse weather conditions have significantly impacted the national scenario, requiring preventive measures to protect the population. The continuity of the campaign until mid -April reflects the concern with the high volume of rainfall for the coming days, reinforcing the importance of keeping the population informed and safe.
