Tennis player gets sick and leaves a wheelchair in Colombia; video

British tennis player Francesca Jones spent moments of tension on Wednesday (2). The athlete had to withdraw from the match against Argentina Julia Riera for Colsanitas Cup, WTA 250 level tournament in Bogota, Colombia, after sick on the court.

Jones was preparing for a loot on the third set when he felt bad. The athlete staggered, fell to the floor and was soon attended by the medical team. The British had to be removed from court with the help of a wheelchair.

At the time of the fall, he won the third set 5-3. Argentina had won the first set 6-2, while Fran Jones took the second 7-5. When the opponent felt bad, Julia stood in her side on the court and helped the medical team put her in the wheelchair.

After the end of the match, the tournament organization announced that the British gave up the match. “Due to a physical problem, Francesca Jones gave up the match against Julia Riera (6-2, 5-7 and 5-3) in favor of Argentina. We wanted a quick recovery to the British tennis player,” the official profile of the competition told.

With the result, Julia Riera qualified for the round of 16 of Bogota. Argentina will face the US Iva Jović, this Thursday (3). The time of the match has not yet been defined.
