Hungary, despite the warranty, invited Netanyahu, plans to withdraw from ICC during his visit.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was initially coming to Hungary on Wednesday evening after the first trip to Europe after last year’s issue of the International Arrest Warrant (ICC), but it will only arrive on Thursday. This was stated by the server nepszava.hu, referring to the administration of the Budapest transport company BKK, informs TASR newsletter in Budapest.

The closures due to the movement of the Israeli delegation according to the Budapest Police Command (Brfk) will be valid from 3 to 6 April.

BKK confirmed in a statement that, unlike previously published information, the Israeli diplomatic delegation will arrive in Budapest on Thursday. The Budapest Transport Company said that it will update traffic information on various information platforms as soon as it receives information on the movement of the delegation from the competent authorities.

The European Green Party (EGP) issued a statement in which it requires that Netanyahu be arrested in Hungary. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán invited the Prime Minister of the Israeli government to Budapest despite the warrant.

Last November, ICC published arrest warrants to Israeli Prime Minister, but also the former Israeli Defense Minister Joav Galanta and former head of the armed wing of the Palestinian Hamas Muhammad Dajfa movement for suspicion of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The server nepszava.hu reminds in this context that Orbán invited Netanyahua on the day of the ICC verdict. This has happened despite the fact that Hungary is a Member State of ICC, which means that the Israeli Prime Minister should arrest in its territory.

The Hungarian Parliament ratified the Roman Statute, which serves as the basis for the warrant, but this step has not yet been declared in the official Journal for constitutional reasons, the server writes. He adds that the Orbán government is going to announce Hungary from ICC at the time of Netanyahu’s visit. This is also a step related to the February declaration of US sanctions against the court. According to Nepszava.hu with information on the resignation of Hungary from ICC, Radio Free Europe also came The Times of Israel.
