They alert the deployment of chemical weapons in Ukraine and qualify the Russian soldiers of "terrorists"

The head of the Center for the fight against the misinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, has affirmed that the Russian army has begun to use the launch of ammunition that contain toxic substances. In addition, he has assured that several incidents have been reported recently in the Kúpiansk sector.

“The Russians have started actively used poisonous drops. Recently several incidents have been reported in the Kupiansk sector. Russia is using prohibited chemical substances, violating all the rules of war. They are simple terrorists, as they have always been,” Kovalenko wrote on Telegram.

In November 2024, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPAQ) officially confirmed for the first time the use of a chemical gas destined to cause massive damage in a combat zone in Ukraine, as reported by the media .

The chemical identified was Gas CS, a prohibited chemical agent, discovered during sample analysis after an incident near the Illinka village in the Dnipropetrovsk region on September 20, 2024.

The OPAQ report emphasized that this constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and represents an additional threat to the civilian population. It was the first documented and confirmed case of the use of prohibited gas in the context of the Russian war in Ukraine, unleashed by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in February 2022.

From the beginning of the Invasion of Russia until April 2024, the Ukrainian forces registered 1,891 cases in which Russia used ammunition loaded with hazardous chemicals, according to the Ukrainian support forces command.
