Italian police are increasing safety at Tesla’s sales stands after a fire in Rome has destroyed 17 brand vehicles. Authorities still investigate the causes of the incident, but do not rule out the possibility of involvement of anarchist groups. Tesla has 13 distribution points in Italy, especially in Rome, Florence and Milan.
The Italian anti -terrorism unit is clear whether the fire, which occurred in the suburbs of the capital, may be linked to a protest against Elon Musk. The businessman, who continues to lead Tesla while joining Donald Trump’s administration, classified the case as “terrorism.”
The Guardian newspaper cited a government source that warned of a possible increase in global protests against Trump -defended policies and supported by Musk. In several cities around the world, the “Tesla Takedown” movement has promoted actions against the brand, encouraging the public to stop buying Tesla vehicles and to divest in the company’s shares to press Musk to abandon US administration.
17 Tesla cars went up in flames at a dealership in Rome. Far-right oligarch Elon Musk called it “terrorism,” as police blame anarchists. It’s one of over a dozen global attacks in 2025, as Musk’s ties to Trump and Europe’s far right deepen.
