Leaders and militants launched a manifesto in defense of the federal deputy’s candidacy for the party’s presidency, in July.
Among the signatories are two former presidents of the subtitle, Olivio Dutra and José Genoino. The Falcon himself has commanded the party on two occasions (1993-94 and 2011-17).
The manifesto calls for an election “with politics in charge” and cites an open letter to the militancy released by Falcon on March 12.

Falcão should formally announce his candidacy in the coming days, supported by center and petista left sectors.
“What Rui and we need to hear is down and militancy,” says federal deputy Bohn Gass (PT-RS), supporter of Falcon’s candidacy.
They should also compete Edinho Silva (by the majority current, building a new Brazil), R and Valter Pomar (Left Articulation).
With the entrance of Falcão in the dispute, the chances that the election is decided only in the second round are growing.
