Bruno Barral was Secretary of Education of Salvador between 2017 and 2020, in the management of the then Mayor ACM Neto (União Brasil).
The investigations point to the performance of a criminal group that would have hit the DNOCS (National Department of Works against Drought), a body linked to the Ministry of National Integration, especially in Bahia.
The group, according to the PF, directed resources of parliamentary amendments and agreements to companies linked to municipal administrations, with overpricing of works and financial deviations.
PF investigations indicate that the criminal group moved about R $ 1.4 billion in fraudulent contracts and overpriced works.
Crimes of active and passive corruption, embezzlement, fraud in bids and contracts, money laundering and obstruction of justice are determined.
The investigation into alleged diversion of parliamentary amendments in DNOCS contracts was sent to the Supreme Court in January after mentioning federal deputy Elmar Nascimento, leader of the House. The rapporteur is the minister, who in February to the case.
In the first phase of the operation, in December, the Federal Police served 43 search and seizure warrants, 17 of pre -trial detention and orders for kidnapping of assets.
