Netanyahu celebrates Hungary’s decision: “He is brave and with principles”
The Israeli prime minister, Benjamín Netanyahu, has celebrated the decision of his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orbán, to withdraw his country from the International Criminal Court. The Israeli, who is visiting Hungary, has branded the decision of “brave and with principles.”
“You support Israel proud.
The TPI ordered the arrest of Netanyahu in November last year when considering it responsible, together with its former Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, and the then leader of the Palestinian militia Hamás, Yahia Sinwar, of war crimes and against humanity. This decision legally obliges all countries that are members of the Court, as is currently Hungary, to comply with the order and arrest Netanyahu in case he steps on the territory of a member country.
Hungarian prime minister, however, had announced that he would not comply with the order and this morning said he would withdraw his country from the court to consider him as a “political tool” as he found, according to him, with the decision to arrest Netanyahu.
