Orlando’s court in the US marked the first hearing to the first hearing to deal with an action filed by the former presidential advisor, in which he seeks to identify those responsible for any fraud in American immigration records that he would have entered the country in late 2022.
The records were used as an argument by STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes to keep Martins arrested for six months last year, citing a risk of escape.
The hearing will seek to clarify what the former advisor’s defense sees as evidence of fraud in US migratory records. The records appeared in April 2024 during his arrest and were deleted in July of the same year.
The former advisor is one of the accused in the alleged coup plot that would have been commanded by.
According to a statement from Judge Gregory PresNell, Martins will be able to follow the session in person or remote manner. The former advisor is forbidden to leave his city, Ponta Grossa (PR), however.
Martins states that there was fraud in the registration made by the American Immigration Service and calls for the investigation of those responsible.
