Deputy asks for translation from the Carbon Market to Indigenous – 05/04/2025 – Panel

Federal Deputy Aliel Machado (PV-PR), rapporteur in the Chamber of, sent a letter to the minister (farm) asking that full translations of the law to languages, and other traditional peoples and communities in Brazil to be provided.

In the document, the parliamentarian argues that “being essential that its content is accessible to all foreign representatives involved in the debates and global deliberations, as suggested by the Minister of Finance.”

Machado also says that it is important to include indigenous, quilombola and other traditional peoples and communities in the process of formulating and implementing environmental policies, which have a specific chapter in the legislation.

According to him, the translation would expand the accessibility of the law, “reinforcing Brazil’s commitment to transparency and inclusion in the climate and environmental debate.”

“We are recognizing, in the law, that the peoples of forests have practiced environmental preservation for centuries,” says the deputy. “Now, with the translation of the law, we are giving the opportunity to actively, consciously and fair to participate in a process that can transform conservation into generation of wealth.”
