Country singer asks R $ 600 thousand for advertising of barbecue kits with his photo published on social networks
The singer filed a lawsuit against the Goiânia (GO), requesting compensation of R $ 600 thousand for misuse of his image. The company, which has gained notoriety in the 2022 election campaign by promoting the reelection of, uses photos of the country to publicize products on social networks.
According to the lawsuit filed in the Goiás Court on March 11, Leonardo and the Talisman company, holding the rights to use the singer’s image, requested compensation of R $ 600 thousand for damages. “The required company has been used in an illegitimate and unauthorized manner from the images of ‘Singer Leonardo’ to make a profit improperly”says the text of the petition, released by the portal this Saturday (5.ab.2025).
The conflict began in 2020, when Leonardo received from the Goiás refrigerator a box with pieces of barbecue meat. The singer posted on social networks a photo holding the box as thanks.
The minutes registered in the notary and attached to the petition shows that the company continued to use the image of the countryman to promote barbecue kits on the social network and on the refrigerator website without authorization.

Leonardo’s defense requested that the company stops the use and exploitation of the singer’s image in any means of disclosure. After notification, the refrigerator should remove the image of the countryman from all businesses, products or services.
The Goiás Refrigerator has already faced previous controversies, including court order to suspend the promotion that linked its products to politicians, and responded to a lawsuit for commercial irregularities. Company representatives had not commented on Leonardo’s action until Saturday afternoon (5.abr).
