Significant cooling, which begins to manifest itself in Slovakia, is also a reason for several meteorological alerts. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) issued them on Sunday (6. 4.) in connection with frost, snow and snow languages and gusty winds.
The warning of frost, which can damage vegetation, was issued by meteorologists for the southwest and the southern half of the Slovak Republic on Sunday early morning and for the night from Sunday to Monday (7. 4.). During the next night and morning, the temperature may drop to minus four, in the first hours of Monday even up to minus six degrees Celsius.
In the northern districts of Slovakia, it can snow at night and Sunday morning, and can attack up to five centimeters of snow. In northern Slovakia, but also in Horehronie in the central part, snow languages and snowdrifts can also be created during Sunday.
In the southwest of the IV districts of eastern Slovakia, on Saturday and Sunday, the warning of the wind, which can reach a speed of 65 – 85 km/h. Strong winds are also threatened in the mountains of northern and central Slovakia. “Above the forest zone, it can reach the power of a massive storm at a speed of 90-105 km/h,” the meteorologists warned as part of the increased warning, which is valid until Sunday afternoon.
