Although the popularity of the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) has stopped falling, the management has not yet recovered from the historic fall reached in the third term of the petista and recorded in February by Datafolha, when approval fell from 35% to 24%. In the general scenario of the new survey released on Friday, 4, 38% consider the government as bad or bad, compared to 29% that evaluate management as great or good.

Among the interviewee segments, only Northeast voters maintain the positive assessment of the higher government than the negative, with 38% approval, compared to 26% of disapproval.

Even so, there has not yet been a recovery in the drop in government approval by the northeastern, registered between December 2024 to February this year, 16 percentage points. Between the two surveys, the number of those satisfied in the historic petista stronghold oscillated five points upwards, considering the margin of error by regions, which is between two and six percentage points.

Voters who consider the Lula government as bad or bad are concentrated in the south, with 46% rejection, compared to 26% approval. There are also the highest rates of disapproval per segment, with 42% (while 27% consider positive and 30% regular), and the richest, with income of more than ten minimum wages. Among them, 51% reject the government, but the rate was 63% in February. Those who approve were from 18% to 31%. The margin of error of the segment is eight percentage points.

When the numbers are evaluated according to the religion that the voter says follows, Catholics are divided among those who consider that Lula is doing a good job, and those who find the opposite – with 34% of each, while 32% considers the government regular.

The president has been trying to approach the religious public as well as a way to improve popularity. Last month, at an event opening an event in Rio Grande do Norte, Lula invited an archbishop to pray “Our Father” and, at the same event, attacked Jair Bolsonaro (PL) saying that the former executive chief lied when he was religious because “the name of God is not used in vain.”
