Two women suspected of theft of 20,000 euros in the “Duty-free” stores of Lisbon airport were arrested, as part of an investigation started in September, the Public Security Police (PSP) announced today.
The detained, 30 and 32 years old, had already “a vast criminal record” for identical crimes, according to.
The “Duty Free” operation allowed to stop women, suspected of six qualified crimes on April 1st.
The investigators realized a theft phenomenon in the stores restricted to passengers with tickets, according to the PSP Metropolitan Command.
“They reserved low-cost online airplane tickets so, after passing the magazine and safety area, accessing the area of stores, from where various perfumes, sunglasses and jewelery objects stole, then put in possession of the stolen objects in the place of the passenger arrival zone,” police said in a statement.
The value of stolen articles is about 20,000 euros.
