Federal Deputy Colonel Ulysses was also present at the independent demonstration held on Sunday (6) in front of the Acre Legislative Assembly (Aleac), in Rio Branco. In his speech, the parliamentarian said that he will also participate in the programmed demonstration to occur in the Afonso Jardim neighborhood. According to him, the purpose of these actions is to demonstrate indignation against what he classified as “abusive and absurd penalties” applied to protesters involved in the acts of 8 January.

Colonel Ulysses compared the current situation with cases of the past involving leftist militants, who, he said, were amnesty even though he committed more serious crimes such as kidnapping and murder. He pointed out that today, people who were just protesting, some with the Bible in their hands, are being treated as criminals. For the deputy, this disparity represents a clear injustice that needs to be faced with firmness and courage.
