China has increased its exploitation of rare earths. In response to Donald Trump’s tariff increase, Beijing has hardened export controls on seven types of metals: Samario, Gadolinio, Terbio, Disposio, Luthate, Scandio and Itrio.

Last week, the US president, Donald Trumpannounced the imposition of “reciprocal” tariffs on imports of goods from a hundred countries. Since then, and affected countries are preparing to deal with the new world commercial situation.
