The Arab-Palestinian Federation of Brazil denounced that Walid Khaled Abdallah, a young Brazilian-Palestine dead on March 25 in an Israeli prison, was hungry, dehydration caused by colitis-induced diarrhea and infectious complications, all aggravated by prolonged malnutrition and lack of medical care.

Walid was arrested in September 2024 in the city of Silwad, located in Israeli -occupied West Bank on charges of aggression to an Israeli soldier. According to the federation, he is one of the more than 60 Palestinians killed in Israeli custody since the beginning of the war in Gaza in October 2023.

The Federation also denounces that the arrest where he was detained is known for torture with electric shocks, beating, food deprivation and the use of dogs against the prisoners.

Death occurs amid the intensification of war between Israel and Hamas after the end of a period of truce. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, more than 50,000 Palestinians have died since the beginning of the conflict. Israel disputes the data provided by the ministry.
