Greece has experienced sharp cooling, Thessaloniki reports minus temperatures and snowfall

In Thessaloniki, temperatures dropped to minus two degrees, which is a dramatic drop compared to 20 degrees from the previous day.

In the north of Greece, temperatures dropped by up to 20 degrees Celsius on Monday night and got into minus values. In several places, including the town of Thessaloniki, it has even been snowing, TASR reports, according to DPA citing Greek media.

In Thessaloniki, they measured minus two degrees Celsius, which is a significant cooling compared to 20 degrees on the previous day.

The roads in the area remained closed, the road vehicles were deployed. Many schools were also closed.

The Greek Meteorological Service estimates that the cold season with night minus temperatures will run by the middle of the week. Farmers in the north of Greece are worried about the maturation of the crop of cherries, pears and plums.

Meanwhile, on the island of Crete in the south of Greece, there is a pleasant spring sunny weather with occasional showers.
