The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), confirmed that Minister Ricardo Lewandowski, of Justice and Public Security, is intended to deliver on Tuesday (8) the proposal to amend the Constitution (PEC) of security to the leaders of the House.
“We will receive this PEC and we will look at it to see what is possible to improve in this text,” he said in a lecture by the São Paulo Commercial Association (ACSP).
Hugo asked for caution to receive the text. “I see that today in Congress, unfortunately, it has a lot of prejudice when you have the addiction of initiative of ‘no good because it comes from the government’. You don’t even know the text and we are already saying that it is no good?
“This is an agenda that has to start from the executive branch, those who have the legitimacy to start, let’s say, a complex proposal about security and Congress goes up to what is attributed to discuss changes necessary for the text to be improved,” he added.
Security PEC is one of the priorities of the federal government. The text, prepared by Lewandowski’s team, seeks to unify the fight against organized crime with coordinated actions between the Union, states and municipalities.
