The sauce for dinner gets easy, but sometimes it comes out too watery. This can be caused by a narrow dish in which it does not evaporate freely. The fault should also be seen in ingredients containing a large amount of water, which is not dependent on us.

That is why we quickly grab the flour and add it to a liquid sauce. It turns out that we don’t have to add this ingredient at all. It can be replaced with a healthier product, which is … linseed.

It is worth adding linseed to the sauce, because it will thicken it as well as flour, but unlike it will give him a delicate, nutty aftertaste. That is why it will greatly complement meat and mushroom sauces.

This product has many health properties. It contains vitamins: A, C, D, E, K and group B, as well as minerals, i.e. phosphorus, magnesium, potassium calcium. Omega-3 fatty acids, lignans and fiber are other important ingredients.

Linseed helps to lower the level of “bad” cholesterolsoothes intestinal inflammation and accelerates metabolism. It is worth implementing them into the menu on a slimming diet.

This healthy has anti -inflammatory properties, has a positive effect on the functioning of the heart and nervous system. What’s more, it contributes to improving the condition of the skin, hair and nails.

On the other hand, wheat flour does not contain fiber and is poorer in nutrients. In addition, it can burden the digestive system, cause bloating and constipation, especially in people sensitive to gluten.

Ground linseed is best suited to thickening the sauce. Small grains can be grinded yourself, e.g. in a coffee grinder.

Linseed is added to the sauce in moderation. It is accepted that we add 1 tablespoon of ground grains per 1 cup of sauce.

This product swells after a few minutes, so you should observe the sauce while cooking. We can always add some ground seeds.

An alternative to ground linseed seeds is linseed gel. To prepare it, just pour whole beans with hot water and wait about 10 minutes, until they swell and create a mucous, thick gel, which is perfect as a natural thickener for sauces.
