Periodic analysis should observe compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, encompassing, among other essential aspects, the verification of the regularity of the commercial brand used by the operating agent
The Ministry of Sport has announced the publication of a new ordinance in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) that establishes guidelines for the supervision of fixed quota betting sites in sports competitions. Responsibility for the inspection will be the responsibility of the National Secretariat of Sports and Economic Sport Development, which will perform regular analyzes to ensure that websites meet legal and regulatory rules. The periodic analysis of these sites should comply with the compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements, encompassing, among other essential aspects, the verification of the regularity of the commercial brand used by the operating agent, ensuring the correspondence with the trademark in the authorization process before the Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat of Prizes and bets.
“If irregularities are found, the technical team will prepare a detailed report, containing the description of the nonconformities, which will be sent to the Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat of Awards and bets for the adoption of appropriate measures,” says the text. “The Ministry of Sport will be able to develop and implement a platform for the integrity of sports operations in the sector, and may also establish partnerships with regulatory agencies, union entities, educational and research institutions, universities, technology companies and international organizations to improve inspection tools and processes,” he adds.
