The name of the Senator (PT-PA) has circulated as a substitute potential of the Ministry of Agrarian Development, amid complaints within the Government (PT) and between social movements about the performance of the current minister at the head of the portfolio.
Faro had a meeting scheduled with Lula before, at the end of March. However, the president unveiled and said he would like to talk more time with the senator when he returned from Japan. There is an expectation that the meeting will take place next week.
Paulo Teixeira’s performance in the ministry has been criticized since the beginning of the government by the (Landless Rural Workers Movement). The movement charges land reform and more settlements of families and intends.
