Prime Minister Han Duck-Soo’s interim government will still officially officialize the date after a cabinet meeting on Tuesday (8.abr).

The election will choose the successor of Yoon Suk-Youol (party of popular power, right). The former South Korean leader suffered an impeachment.

Yoon’s removal was approved by and by. According to the Constitution, the country must hold a presidential election within 60 days.

Lee Jae-Myung, leader of the Democratic Opposition Party (left) and defeated by Yoon in the 2022 election, leads the polls of votes.

However, he responds to legal proceedings for allegedly channeling funds for North Korea and false statements during an election campaign. If convicted in any case, it may be prevented from holding public office.
