Jair Bolsonaro’s First Order Ally (PL) and one of the suitors to replace the former president in the 2026 elections, the governor of Sao Paulo Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans-SP) assessed that the right is strengthened from this Sunday’s Bolsonist demonstration, which brought together about 44,900 supporters on São Paulo Avenue, in São Paulo.

“It shows strength, and there is a convergence on the way back. And I think it is also wrong to think that the right is fragmented, is disunited, that individual interests will prevail. It won’t. I think everyone is imbued in the same purpose, the same ideal of transformation and I think the right will walk (for that),” he said at the end of the event.

Asked if there is a projection for the right to unite in 2026 in the presidential elections, the governor said yes, but did not go into detail.

Tarcísio says that 'right is united' and that manifestation is 'impulse' for amnesty

Currently, with the former presidentless president until 2030 and defendant in the Supreme Federal Court (STF) for attempted coup d’état in 2022, there is no public consensus on who would be the heir of political capital, since Bolsonaro insists on being a pre-candidate as a way to stay in the game. Tarcisio, however, is named in voting intentions as the name of the most successful right.

During his speech, Tarcisio said that if the egg, meat and other foods are expensive, it is because “Bolsonaro needs to go back.” He also cited other episodes of the history of the country where there was amnesty grant and that the institute can be recovered now. “I want prison yes is for robber, for those who steal cell phone, for those who invade land and for corrupt,” he said.

At a similar pace to the campaign, the governor took advantage of the end of the demonstration to meet with supporters, who were able to get out of the grids of containment with the permission of the security guards to embrace and take pictures with Tarcisio. One of the last authorities to leave the event, the governor still leaned out of the car window and waved to the pockets.
