US President Donald Trump threatened China by increasing tariffs by another 50 %if Beijing does not cancel retaliation. TASR reports this based on DPA and CNBC reports.
Trump wrote on his social platform Truth Social that he is giving Beijing time to Tuesday to abolish 34 % duties to import from the US. China accepted in response to US duties.
US import duties from China would increase by 104 %, if Trump had made this threat, the unnamed White House representative confirmed for the CNBC. Last week, Trump announced a 34 % import duties from China, which will be added to an existing 20 % duty.
