Everything used to be better. This saying has been heard more often lately. But that doesn’t make him more true, says Tyrol’s glacier researcher Andrea Fischer. At least as far as winter is concerned, many tended to transfigure the past. It is a fairy tale that cold, deep snowy winter used to be the rule – apart from the small ice age between 1300 and 1850, Fischer said at a tourism seminar at the Austria Chamber of Commerce (WKO) in Stuben am Arlberg.
