Actress exposes conversation with TVDE driver after protest about sexual violence in Lisbon

Last Saturday, April 5, hundreds of people focused on the Assembly of the Republic, in Lisbon, during the protest “violation is not filmed, condemned”, demanding justice to victims of sexual crimes committed against women, youth and children.

Protesters include several public figures, including actress Joana Cravo, protagonist of Opto’s “The Elected” series. However, by abandoning the protest, the actress was confronted with an unexpected situation.

In a video published on the social network Tiktok, Joana showed the conversation she had with a TV driver during the return trip. The driver decided to share his opinion on cases of sexual violence.

“They get in the hands of sowing, they are subjected … They also have to have judgment. They are all there … Then they get peeing out, with their underpants, drunkmen … It is not that this will be entitled to be attacked, but they also have to behave well. They should not do it, of course, but the thief does the occasion.”

Surprised by the driver’s words, Joana wrote in the caption: “I had just left the demonstration. This Uber only proves the serious problem we faced. I didn’t want to believe what it was hearing.”

The publication became viral and surpassed the 300,000 views, generating more than 20,000 reactions and comments, many of which denounce the normalization of hazardous discourses and the urgent need for a change of mindset in society.
