The tragic bus accident on MG-223, which occurred at dawn on Tuesday (8), resulted in the deaths of 10 people, according to information from the Fire Department. The incident was near Araguari, 671 km from the capital of Minas Gerais ,. The vehicle, which carried 45 passengers plus the driver, overturned, also leaving two children between 2 and 4 years old and nine people in serious condition. The bus departed from Goiânia, in Goiás, and headed towards São Paulo. According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the central flowerbed before overturning.
The impact was so strong that several passengers were thrown out of the bus, while others were trapped in the hardware, requiring immediate rescue. The victims of the accident were sent to hospitals in Uberlândia and Araguari, where they receive medical attention. The situation at the Araguari Emergency Care Unit (UPA) is critical, with the unit facing overcrowding. Given this, the local City Hall appealed to the population to avoid going to the UPA, except in emergency cases.
