The CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) announced on Monday (7) the postponement of Serie D of the Brazilian Championship in a week. Initially planned for April 12 and 13, the opening round of the fourth national division will be played on the 19th and 20th.
In a letter sent to the participating clubs and their respective state federations, the entity reported that the decision was made due to the lack of compulsory technical reports within the period of stadiums that will receive matches of the competition.
The documents are a requirement provided for in the General Sport Law (Law 14.597/2023), the CBF Statute and the RGC (General Regulation of Competitions) of the Confederation.
This set of reports are, for example, authorizations linked to insurance, sanitary surveillance and fire prevention and prevention.
The maximum entity of Brazilian football cited in the letter that the documents must be presented at least 30 days in advance of the start of the competition or, in case of renewal, on the date of its concession.
Signed by CBF’s director of competitions, Julio Avellar, the entity’s letter stresses that such measures are fundamental to ensure the physical integrity of fans, players, referees and all others involved in the matches.
Despite the postponement, the maximum Brazilian football entity said that the Serie D calendar will not be compromised and its end is scheduled for September.
