The European Union (EU) expects to present the response to 20% tariffs imposed by the United States of America (USA) “early next week,” the European Commission said.
“My expectation is that it is early next week,” said Community Executive spokesman for Economic Security and Trade, Olof Gill, at a press conference in Brussels, where the European Commission is based.
US President Donald Trump announced last week new tariffs on all imports, with surcharge for countries considered particularly hostile to trade.
In the case of the European Union, new US fees of 20% to imported products add to 25% over the automotive, steel and aluminum sectors.
