The hacker attack on Prime Minister Fiala’s account included false contributions about the Russian attack and business sanctions against the US, which were quickly removed.
The account of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on Social Network X was the target of a hacker attack on Tuesday morning. In the premiere account, information about the false attack of the Russians on Czech troops near Kaliningrad appeared. Prime Minister Lucie Micutova spokeswoman Ješátková confirmed that the post that disappeared from the account was a forgery after a few minutes. TASR reports this according to iDNES.cz and CNN Prima News.
“The Czech troops near the Kaliningrad border attacked Russian forces. We are in urgent contact with NATO to coordinate immediate commitment. This is serious escalation. Czech and Baltic security will be protected,” it was written in the Czech Prime Minister’s account.
“Despite all the available security measures, the chairman’s Prime Minister’s profile on the X Network was attacked this morning (Tuesday).
Idnes.cz reported that in addition to the post, a purple account appeared more than a ten -minute video with a Czech flag in the background and a black inscription in English, which is defined against the duties introduced by US President Donald Trump. “The Czech Republic will not tolerate market handling. In response to the imposition of disproportionate duties by the US, we are preparing targeted countermeasures – including sanctions – to protect the Czech industry. We call on the US to return to fair trade rules,” stood in the post, which was also erased from the Prime Minister’s account.
CNN Prima News recalls that last year hackers attacked the website of the Czech Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. In 2023, hackers were also targeted by the website of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and other state institutions.
