This year’s Amplifest Music Festival was canceled because of the increase in the Hard Club rental value in Porto, the enclosure that hosted ten editions of the event, the prosecutor announced today.
“The hard club was the heart of Amplifest, but we were surprised by a 400 percent increase in rental, which became completely unfeasible for a new edition,” the festival organizer André Mendes told Lusa.
Amplifest, which in 2024 celebrated ten editions, is a small, small festival that welcomed the bands like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Oxbow, Chelsea Wolfe, Peter Brötzmann, Swans, Wovenhand, William Basinski and Neurosis.
