The Minister of Communications of the Government, was denounced to the (Supreme Court) by the (Attorney General’s Office) in the investigation in which he was indicted for the suspicion of passive corruption and other crimes related to the diversion of amendments during the period in which he was deputy.
The process is under the minister’s rapporteur, and runs under confidentiality. Juscelino was indicted by the corporation on June 12 last year on suspicion of participating in criminal organization, money laundering, passive corruption, ideological falsehood and bid fraud.
At the time, Lula stated that he was reported by PGR.
In a statement, Juscelino says he is innocent and states that offering the complaint does not imply guilt and does not “can serve as an instrument for the MP to guide the country.”
The PF concluded that Juscelino joined a criminal organization that diverted resources from paving works funded with public money from Federal State Codevasf.
The suspicions involve irregularities in works carried out in Vitorino Freire (MA), a city that was governed by Luanna Rezende, the minister’s sister, and benches by parliamentary amendments indicated by Lula’s minister during the period he exercised the mandate of federal deputy.
One of the elements used by the PF is a report by the CGU (Comptroller General of the Union) about one of the works benefiting from the minister’s family properties.
The investigation began to investigate them suspicions of deviations in works of Codevasf, especially those carried out by the company Construservice, whose hidden partner, points to PF, is the businessman Eduardo José Barros Costa, known as Eduardo DP.
In a statement, Minister’s lawyers, Ticiano Figueiredo and Pedro Ivo Velloso, say he was not notified until the time of the complaint.
“The minister reaffirms his total innocence and points out that the offer of a complaint does not imply guilt, nor can it serve as an instrument for the MP to guide the country. The trial is up to the Supreme Court, in whom Juscelino Filho trusts that he will reject the accusatory piece in the face of his manifest absence of evidence,” says the note.
“By the way, this is the best opportunity to put a definitive end to this marathon of factoids that has been dragging on for almost years, with the final word of the maximum instance of the national judiciary.”
The note also states that the case is not related to Juscelino’s performance at the head of the Ministry of Communications and that, as a deputy, he “merely indicated parliamentary amendments to fund the work for the benefit of the population.”
“The processes of bidding, execution and supervision of these works are the exclusive competence of the Executive Power, not being the responsibility of the parliamentary that indicated the resources.”
