The European Commission proposed 25% on a series of US products on Monday in response to the chairman’s duties in steel and aluminum, as evidenced by a document seen by Reuters.
Duties for certain goods will come into force on 16 May and others later in the year, December 1, the document said. Burbon had been removed from the original list weighed by the committee in March.
Zero duties in industrial products was suggested by the Commission in the US
The European Union has proposed in the US to exclude industrial products fully and mutual, in an effort to avoid a trade war, European Commission President Ursula von der Laien announced.
“We have proposed zero duties for industrial products,” the US President Ursula von der Layen said. In her statements with the Norwegian Prime Minister, with whom she met in Brussels today, Ursula von der Laien said the EU was ready to negotiate with the US.
