Trump says that "nobody" wants to live in Gaza and insists that the US assumes his control

The president of the United States, said Monday that “nobody” wants to live in the Gaza Strip and said it would be “something good” that US forces assumed control of the Palestinian enclave.

During a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister, the Republican insisted that he sees the Palestinian enclave as “incredibly important real estate land.”

“I think it is something that we would get involved. Having a peace force like the American controlling and appropriating the Gaza Strip would be positive,” said the president, who has been accused of seeking an “ethnic cleaning” of the enclave with his plan.

Trump defined the strip as “a fantastic place where nobody wants to live” because it has become “a dangerous mortal trap.”

The Republican advocated “transfer to the Palestinians to different countries” and create a “free zone” where the population is not at risk.

Trump says referring to the withdrawal of Israel from the Strip in 2005.

According to Netanyahu, the plan proposed by Trump would grant the Palestinians “freedom to decide” if they want to leave the strip, where they are now “retained” and are not allowed to leave the territory.

The prime minister gave the example of other conflict areas such as Ukraine and Syria where, he said, people were left to flee from the combat areas.

Netanyahu also said that he is working with Trump in the search for a new hostage release agreement and the Gaza Strip that hopes to “succeed.”

According to the Prime Minister, this agreement would allow “to free all hostages, but also eliminate the perverse influence of Hamas in Gaza.”

Israel has intensified attacks on the Palestinian enclave, where almost 1,500 Palestinians have died since on March 18 broke the high fire in force since January.
