UFAC Ethics Commission has received 60 complaints in the last five years, reports report

The Federal University of Acre recently implemented a new tool in its internal operation, Power BI, which will serve to monitor and transparency of ethical processes under its responsibility.

According to a survey by the platform, a total of 60 complaints were registered with the ethics committee between 2020 and 2025 (so far). In 2020, 6 complaints were registered; 3 in 2021; 9 in 2022; 18 in 2023; 11 in 2024; and 13 to the present moment of 2025.

Among them, there are 27 cases finished, 26 where the findings were not started and 7 in the process of investigation. Among those that are already being investigated or has already been closed, the cases are classified as follows: 19 filed by prescription; 8 archived summarily; 4 in preliminary procedure; and 3 with testing of evidence. The others follow in the process of admissibility judgment.

The reasons that led to complaints were also disclosed, being distributed as follows: ethical and disciplinary infraction (28); bullying (25); racial discrimination (2); Sexual discrimination (2); bullying and sexual harassment (1); Sexual harassment (1); and conflict of interest (1).

As for the profile of the complainants, 36 are teachers; 10, administrative technician in education (TAES); 6, students; Another 6 did not specify; and 2 belong to external society, without bond with the university.

The profile of the accused was distributed as follows: 38 teachers; 13 TAES; and 9 not specified.
